Welcome to the MIT TechTV help pages. We've put the answers to some common questions on this page. If the question you have isn't answered here, you can check out our list of frequently-asked questions, or scroll down for our support form.
How do I ...
... download a video
If the owner of the video has allowed this option for their video, to the right of each video, there's a link(s) next to "Formats". Choose the available format you want and right-click (Mac users ctrl-click) on the format's link and choose to "save link as" / "download linked file as" or the appropriate choice based on your browser.
... change my picture
You can change the picture that appears on your show page by logging into MIT TechTV, then going to Profile page and uploading a new picture in the "Collection Image" field. You can specify a large image to be used on your collection page as well as a small image to be used on your video's pages. If no small image is uploaded, the large image will be used by default.
... change my collection name
You can change the name of your collection by going to your Profile page and entering a new collection name.
... delete my account
If you want to delete your MIT TechTV account, please reconsider and then if you still want to delete your account, go to the Close Account page and follow the few steps it will guide you through.
... ask for help or report a problem
You can use our Contact page to send us a message, or mail us direct at techtv [at] mit [dot] edu. If you use the Contact form, please include an email address that we can use to contact you (and make sure that it is correct). Please remember to include your username and any relevant URLs or error messages.
I can't ...
... log in

... view the videos
Make sure that you have the latest version of the Flash video player. You can get the Flash player for free from Adobe. You may need to restart your computer after installing.
If you still have problems, use our Contact form to get in touch. Remember to tell us which browser and operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux, other) and version (ie Windows XP, Mac OS 10.4) you're using. If you're able to watch some videos but not others, please send us the URLs of the ones that don't work for you.
