MIT's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences stands at the nexus of neuroscience, biology and psychology. Our world-renowned neuroscientists and cognitive scientists study the brain and mind at every level, from genes and cells to brain imaging and human cognition. They employ a wide spectrum of approaches that are helping us to understand how the brain works. This event explores current directions in brain research and new discoveries at MIT that signal progress in potential treatments for a wide array of brain disorders such as autism, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s disease, and psychiatric illness. Speakers include faculty from the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, The McGovern Institute for Brain Research, The Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, and the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital.
