Remembering Doc Draper
Known as the “father of inertial navigation,” Dr. Charles Stark Draper was a professor of aeronautics and astronautics at MIT, where he founded the Institute’s Instrumentation Laboratory in the 1930s. Today this lab functions as a separate, nonprofit research and development laboratory that bears his name. This video includes vintage footage of Doc Draper and fond recollections from his Course 16 colleagues.
